We have already seen a number of hacks for viewing Photoshop’s .PSD and Illustrator’s .EPS files as thumbnails in Windows Explorer. But here is a better and much simpler way of doing it.
PSi+Ai Thumbs is the name of the application that once installed on to your system, lets you view .PSD and .EPS files as thumbnails. No cut-copy-paste, no registry editing is required, just download and install this little app (download link given at the end of the post)
PSi+Ai Thumbs installs aiicon.dll and psicon. dll files on to your system. These files were included in the pre CS versions of Photoshop and Illustrator. But after the release of Adobe Creative Suite (CS), Adobe stopped the development of these functions.
Nevertheless, download PSi+Ai Thumbs from here. [via]

works perfectly. very nice – thks!
Nice and easy fix. Although not showing every eps it showing most. Cheers
not working on Vista or 7.. only on XP….
I have to agree with Hamadzedan. Too bad
meant :_(
It worked perfect on my copy Win7. It has to be the 32 bit version of Vista or Win7, this won’t work on the 64 bit versions.
Can you make this work for Win7 please?
i have read in another post:
The registry files must be changed if you’re running a 64-bit version of Windows. Illustrator and Photoshop, both 32-bit applications, are installed in the “Program Files (x86)” folder, and the registry entries must point there rather than to “Program Files”, which is for 64-bit programs.
I hope it could help
I think this is causing random crashes for me. I started having random “closing” of photoshop (Doesn’t even pop up a crash report) after installing this and trying to preview graphics in the “Large Icon” setting in the OPEN window. While the icons were “rendering” Photoshop just totally shut down. So how do I uninstall this buggy Icon software?
@Cheri: Download the software from here http://geekace.com/downloads/psai.zip
Execute it and Click No, it will be uninstalled
Any way we can get this working on 64bit. I saw somebody suggested changing the reg files but which ones?
This doesn’t work on win7 32 bit
Heeey, i need this too for Windows 7 64-bit. Pretty please?
