Opera reinvents the web with ‘Unite’

Opera has certainly reinvented the web with the introduction of its new technology ‘Unite’ which will convert any computer or device running Opera into a Web server. ‘Unite’ will be available in the upcoming Opera 10 web browser.

With Opera ‘Unite’ you can share your data: photos, music, notes and other files. You can even run chat rooms and host entire Web sites with Opera Unite.

Currently, seven services are offered, they are:

File Sharing: A simple and safe way to share files directly from your computer.
Fridge: A fun place for people to leave notes on your computer.
Media Player: Access your complete home music library from wherever you are.
Photo Sharing: Share your personal photos with friends around the world without the need to upload them.
The Lounge: Invite your friends to a chat in The Lounge hosted on your computer.
Web Server: Host your Web sites running from your own computer.

Unite Service Settings

You can also create newer services by using Web standards like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG and AJAX.
