Now you can send free SMS messages to any mobile phone right from the new Yahoo! Mail interface. The only prerequisite is a Yahoo Mail account, which is free, you can register for a new account anytime.
This trick makes use of the new Yahoo Mail interface. So the first step is to switch from Yahoo! Mail classic to the new Yahoo! Mail. To switch over click Try the new Yahoo! Mail link on the right side.
Once you are in the new Yahoo Interface press t on the keyboard or goto New and select Text Message(SMS).
In the text box insert the recipient’s mobile number without the country code and press Enter.
Write the message (141 characters long) and press Enter. The message will be send to the recipient in under a minute.
This trick has been tested to work in the following countries – USA, Canada, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
