ADVERTISEMENTS
You must have heard of Google Android, if not, then I must tell you that it is a mobile based OS with a Linux based kernel. It usually came preinstalled with T-Mobile G1 and some HTC mobiles. Google is also planning to make this OS work on netbooks.
If you feel like trying this OS without buying any cell phone then you can go and download a LiveCD and LiveUSB image carrying this OS. All you have to do is burn the image on the CD or install it on the USB drive, and boot from it. All your OS’s and files installed on your system will remain intact, so no need to worry, it will not affect any files on your PC. Currently it works only on x86 platforms.
You can also use the disc image in a virtualization application like VirtualBox, VMWare or Microsoft Virtual PC if you want to try the operating system without even rebooting your computer.
It is worth giving a try. Download it here
