The folder positions in Windows 7 are not stored just like previous Windows Operating System. You must have noticed this while working on a multi-monitor system or sometimes when you change the screen resolution. The “Remember each folder’s view settings” is removed from Windows 7.
But here is nifty little tool that do this for you. Goes by the name of ShellFolderFix, this app manages folder window position and size. This app runs in the background and it records the position of the folders that are being accessed.
It stores 500 folder in its database by default but it can be increased as per requirements. Other options such as Show window titles under Aero, Enable Basic theme redraw fix etc, are available. ShellFolderFix is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
