How to get Opera’s Notes feature in Google Chrome
Filed Under: Google Chrome, Howto on July 10, 2009
Opera has a number of intelligent features, one of them in Notes that lets you save certain pieces of text that you can access later. The text can include Web Addresses, Phone Numbers, Usernames etc.
Now you can get the same functionality in Google Chrome using an extension. The extension goes by the name of Sticky Note. It is not as streamlined as Notes in Opera, but it is worth giving a try.
To install this extension you need to have the latest dev channel release of Google Chrome. Once the extension is installed, it adds a little notebook icon to the toolstrip, click it to open the sticky note. A text area will come up where you can write your text (displayed above). Clicking the notebook icon again will save your text and close the sticky note. You can also close the sticky note by clicking the Quit button.
The extension also has a number of customization features…
1. You can set the background (top) and foreground (bottom) colors of the textbox.
2. There is an option of opening the sticky note inside the window instead of in a new window.
3. You can switch between modes (external or internal) by clicking the middle icon on the toolstrip.
4. Click the colored squares on the right of the toolstrip to open the color selector. You will have a choice between ten pre-set colors or the ability to add your own HTML color code (#RRGGBB).
If you are a true fan of Google Chrome, than you will surely love this.
Download the extension from here
Note: Right click on the link and save the file on the disk. Drag the file on Chrome window to trigger the installation.
