How to Configure APN Settings in iPhone for Airtel, BSNL and Idea

by Vineet Sharma on December 11, 2011 · 5 comments

This tutorial is for those, who have unlocked iPhone or an iPhone free from any Operator Contract. Although the process of configuring Access Point Name (APN) in iPhone is pretty straight forward, but still some users goof up with the settings. Here is how you can configure it.

apple-iphone-3g

Firstly, Enter the SIM card of you Telecom Operator and go to Settings >> General >> Network

Tap on Cellular Data Network.

Under the APN box type the Access Point Name.

APN Name of Various Operators

BSNL – bsnlnet or bsnllive

Airtel – airtelgprs.com

Idea - internet

That’s it save these settings and try connecting to the Internet.

I have Iphone 3G phone 3.1.2.
Same problem with MMS.
In setting I have VPN & not APN like all the above are mentioning.
What do i do???.
tried mostly every thing Airtel says they have the MMs on from their side.
Ihad taken Number portability 3-4 months from Loop to Airtel. Loop I could send & receive MMS.,
so here should be no problem with hard ware. Every thing else works EDGE,MAP, SMS The the ring. Advice
