How to add your Website to Microsoft Bing

Microsoft’s latest search engine Bing is getting a lot of attention these days. Recently it has taken over Yahoo to acquire the number two spot. Webmasters can certainly use this popularity of Bing to increase traffic to their websites. One way of getting traffic is by adding your websites to the Bing’s Search Index and here is the way of doing it.

1. Navigate to this page. All you need is a Windows Live ID to access this page. You can create a live ID, if you haven’t got one.

2. After entering the Webmaster Center, you have to enter the website URL and the sitemap(which is optional).

3. Next step is to authenticate yourself as a website administrator, you can do this by uploading a verification XML file to your server or by adding a meta tag to the homepage.

4. You can see different details about your website once the verification process is completed.
